Super Girls Unite!
Dear Super Girl:
I’m a good secret keeper! About a month ago, I received a call from USA Network and NBCUniversal letting me know I was selected as one of the 2013 Characters Unite Award Winners!
I was in a grocery store when I got the call. I roamed the aisles as casually as I could. But eventually I gave in and twirled and skipped and laughed and cried all at the same time.
I took mental notes of all the things that were involved with the recognition and then I called my mom.
I’m grateful for all the recognition Severson Sisters – and I – have received over the last 29 months. In that time, we’ve received great accolades from power houses like:
· Glamour magazine and Sally Hansen
· Morgan James Publishing
· Phoenix Business Journal
· Royal Neighbors of America
· AAAME
· Young Non-Profit Network
· New Made Revolution magazine
And now – USA Network and NBCUniversal!
This one comes at a much welcomed time in my life and in the organization’s life. We are really close to turning three years old. And for some reason, the last six months have been the hardest on me and on Severson Sisters.
I’m grateful in a way I’ve never felt before. I was really concerned this beautiful organization I believe in with all my being was going to have to be put on hold due to the financial stress.
And then came USA Network with an award that celebrates characters who unite! And I love that. I’ve been saying – Super Girls UNITE from the start. I believe in unity. I stand for unity.
